My husband and I moved to Helsby in 1997 shortly after we married and were wanting to live somewhere convenient for both our jobs.  My husband’s allotment led to us getting involved in village activities and I joined the Parish Council in May 2008.  I have served on the Parks, Cemetery and Allotments Committee, including as its chair, since then and also contribute to other committees.  I have been Helsby Parish Council’s representative for Protos Community Forum since it was initiated in 2010 and liaise with other community groups.  I also organise the distribution and delivery network for Helsby News.  I feel it’s important for all residents to contribute to the local community and make Helsby a great place for all of us to live.
